<br />CASSELBERRY PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD <br />Parks & Recreation Administration Office <br /> <br />125 E. Melody Lane, Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Department was held Tuesday, November 14, <br />2006. Pete Monaco called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Board Members Present <br />: <br />Pete Monaco, Phyllis Sheppard, Liz Torres, Butch Spence and Marianne Kappel <br /> <br />Staff Present <br />: <br />Matt Fortini (Parks & Recreation Director), Maria Simmons (Sr. Staff Assistant) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br /> <br />John Casselberry <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />: <br />Marianne Kappel made a motion to accept the October 10, 2006 minutes. Butch Spence <br />seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously 5-0. <br /> <br />2005-2006 Strategic Plan: <br /> <br />Mr. Fortini review the 2005-2006 Strategic Plan item by item, indicating the progress by <br />sections, overall approximately 70% of the plan has been completed. <br /> <br />Mr. Fortini explained why those items that had not been completed were due to change of <br />direction or in some cases due to lack of staff. <br /> <br />It continues to be a departmental goal to accomplish as many items in the plan as possible. <br /> <br />2006-2007 Strategic Plan: <br /> <br />Mr. Fortini presented the 2006-2007 Strategic Plan and expressed that one of the goals was to <br />reduced department’s turnover from 50% to 35%. He also shared that during the summer <br />months we will start meeting with community groups to review past results and make <br />recommendation for future growth. <br /> <br />Other items discussed: <br />? <br /> <br />Establishing programs for senior, adults, teen, pre-teens and children <br />? <br /> <br />Rent the pool to serve the community <br />? <br /> <br />Continue to write grants <br />? <br /> <br />Surveys <br />? <br /> <br />Training <br />? <br /> <br />Increase visibility in our community <br />? <br /> <br />Solicit people’s input <br />? <br /> <br />Increase the volume of volunteers <br />? <br /> <br />Increase partnerships – it has worked out very well our partnership with Lyman & Lake <br />Howell High Schools <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
