Melody Lane, Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Department was held Tuesday, September 12, <br />2006. Pete Monaco called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Board Members Present <br />: <br />Pete Monaco, Phyllis Sheppard, Liz Torres, Butch Spence and Marianne Kappel <br /> <br />Staff Present <br />: <br />Matt Fortini (Parks & Recreation Director), Maria Simmons (Sr. Staff Assistant) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br /> <br />John Casselberry <br /> <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />: <br />Butch Spence made a motion to accept the August 22, 2006 minutes. Phyllis Sheppard seconded <br />the motion. The motion carried unanimously 5-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Item 1 – Park Ordinance & Administrative Rules: <br /> <br />Mr. Fortini read the Park Ordinance #06-1189, approved by the Commission that gives the City <br />the authorization to implement rules and regulations in City parks. No vote necessary <br /> <br />Administrative Rules – Mr. Fortini discussed every section of the Administrative Rules that were <br />also approved in the last Commission meeting. This process has taken approximately 2 years <br />working with the City lawyer, Police and Fire Department. <br /> <br />The Administrative Rules will serve as a guide for all P & R Staff as well as Police and Fire <br />Department. <br /> <br />Butch Spence made a motion to accept as is the Administrative Rules, seconded by Marianne <br />Kappel. Motion passed unanimously 5-0. <br /> <br />Director’s Report: <br /> <br /> Senior Center Luau <br />? – This event is put together by the Seniors For A Better Community, <br />Mr. Fortini invited everyone present to join this celebration and shared that Bazaar Sale <br />will also be taking place during this event. Kathy Macchia the Senior Center <br />Coordinator has also worked very closely with the seniors to make this event a success. <br />The money that has been raised in the past with these events has helped improve the <br />Senior Center, for example, the Ballroom. <br /> <br /> <br />
