Melody Lane, Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Department was held Tuesday, May 16, 2006. Pete <br />Monaco called the meeting to order at 6:55 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Board Members Present <br />: <br />Pete Monaco, Phyllis Sheppard, Butch Spence, Liz Torres <br /> <br />Staff Present <br />: <br />Matt Fortini (Parks & Recreation Director), Sharon Rogers (Staff Assistant) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br /> <br />John Casselberry, Bobby LaChance, Charles Lippoldt <br /> <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />: <br />Liz Torres made a motion to accept the April 11, 2006 minutes. Phyllis Sheppard seconded the <br />motion. The motion carried unanimously 4-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Audience Participation: <br /> <br />a)Bobby LaChance (Summerset North) said he wanted to thank the board publicly for their <br />assistance. The final report for the Summerset North Community Matching Grant program <br />to be submitted to Sharon Rogers by May 26, 2006. Due to some recent delays on the part of <br />the City, a motion for a second extension was needed. Phyllis Sheppard made motion to <br />extend the grant deadline for Summerset North to May 31, 2006; motion seconded by Butch <br />Spence. Motion passed unanimously 4-0. <br /> <br /> <br />b)Charles Lippoldt (Summit Village) explained to the board that although they had spent the <br />$3,250 grant money issued by the City, they had accidentally overlooked the fact that they <br />had an additional $1,500 in matching funds that was not spent, and Summit Village was <br />requesting an extension for completion of their project. In addition, Mr. Lippoldt presented <br />two different scenarios for landscaping and materials. Motion made by Phyllis Sheppard to <br />extend grant deadline to June 30, 2006, and to allow Mr. Lippoldt to choose the direction <br />(scenario) that he wanted to move forward with; motion seconded by Butch Spence. Motion <br />passed unanimously 4-0. <br /> <br /> <br />c)John Casselberry raised the question as to whether or not the City is considering building any <br />additional boat ramps.
