Melody Lane, Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br />th <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Department was held Tuesday, October 9 2007. <br />At the Human Resources Conference Room located at 95 Triplet Lake Drive. Butch Spence <br />called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. <br /> <br />Board Members Present <br />: <br />Butch Spence, Phyllis Sheppard, Liz Torres and June Herron. <br /> <br />Board Member Absent: <br />None <br /> <br />Staff Present <br />: <br />Matt Fortini (Parks & Recreation Director), Maria Simmons (Sr. Staff Assistant) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br /> <br />John Casselberry <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />: <br />Phyllis Sheppard made a motion to accept the September 11th minutes, Liz Torres seconded the <br />motion. The motion carried unanimously 4-0. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: <br />None <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plan: <br />Mr. Fortini addressed the Board with the introduction and explanation of the Comprehensive <br />Plan Amendment Process. Various issues were discussed and clarified by Mr. Fortini. <br /> <br />Board then discussed the top issues that should take priority and analyze: <br /> <br />1.Separation of open space from other Recreational lands by use, park type, etc. <br /> <br />2.Add or revise definitions as required <br /> <br />3.Remove/update notations regarding code requirements and impact fees. <br /> <br />4.Eliminate school acreage calculations <br /> <br />5.Eliminate “farther” parks from list of available space <br /> <br />6.Update boat ramp references <br /> <br />7.Variety of small updates and clarifications throughout the document <br /> <br />Mr. Fortini read out loud the seven points of discussion. <br /> <br />Mr. Butch Spencer started the discussion with the other members, then asked Mr. Fortini to share <br />with the board the EAR recommendations for recreation and open space (see attachment). <br /> <br />After a lengthy discussion the board members were ready to make recommendations and <br />motions accordingly <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
