<br />CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />MiD utes oCDecember 8, 2008. Regular Meeting <br />Page 20 DC 24 <br /> <br />Recommendation: The City Manager, the Police Chief and the Community Development Director <br />recommended approval of Ordinance 09-1264 on first reading. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Solomon moved to approve Ordinance <br />09-1264 on first reading. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Miller. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Miller, Commissioner Solomon, Vice Mayor Hufford and Mayor <br />Glancy spoke in favor of Ordinance 09-1264. Commissioner Doerner stated she <br />does not feel panhandling and homeless are major issues in Casselberry and both <br />issues have dramatically improved over the last several years in Casselberry and <br />Seminole County. <br /> <br />Motion carried 4 - 1 (Commissioner Doerner dissenting) by voice vote. <br /> <br />11. RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />No items were presented. <br /> <br />12. OTHER ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Board Appointment - Senior Center Advisory Board <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Ms. Barbara Lipscomb, City Manager stated there was currently one vacancy existing <br />on the Senior Center Advisory Board due to the resignation of Mr. John Warren. After continuous <br />recruitment efforts, three applications have been received by the City Clerk and being presented for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />Mayor Glancy nominated Mr. Herbert Dickens. Commissioner Solomon nominated Mr. Larry Piefer. <br /> <br />Voting Tabulation: <br /> <br />Mr. Herbert Dickens - 4 votes (Mayor Glancy, Vice Mayor Hufford, <br />Commissioner Miller and Commissioner Doerner) <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Piefer - <br /> <br />I vote (Commissioner Solomon) <br /> <br />Commission consensus was to appoint Mr. Herbert Dickens to the Senior Center Advisory Board, <br />filling the unexpired term of Mr. John Warren, term effective to January 2010. <br />
