<br />The Senior Center, Advisory Board held a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, Joe Howard called the meeting to
<br />order at 1:15 pm,

<br />Board Members Present:

<br />Board Members' Absent:

<br />Herb Dickens updated With continued impact of Chess Club, The program is bringing in groups from other cities; even
<br />outside Seminole County,
<br />
<br />Ooen Discussion:
<br />Maria Simmons introduced herself and Linda Moore to the board, She updated the members on the reorganization process in
<br />the Parks & Recreation Division, as well as Administrative Services Department. All items and materials are to be submitted to
<br />Betty or Donald fur the continuing marketing campaign the city is engaging in, .
<br />
<br />Ms, Simmons informed the Board of upcoming city events; including the Golf & Jazz Festival and the 5K Run, The City is
<br />asking for suppo,rt from members of the board, in helping with the Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Dance events,
<br />
<br />Donald Dowd's position as a Recreation Coordinator will end on September 30, 2008, He will then return to his Recreation
<br />Aide status, Donald will'still run and manage the Recreation Center,
<br />
<br />Building renovations will tentatively take place after the elections in November, Updates of this will be provided at the next
<br />meeting, Regular programming and operations will continue till the renovations, The SBC has offered to purchase chairs for
<br />the center. This.;"iIl take place after refurbishment is complete,
<br />
<br />If the Board has any concerns or ideas, they are to bring it to the attention of the Recreation Center Interim Coordinator (Don),
<br />Don will then bring Linda and Maria, any information, including the marketing of the center and its activities,
<br />
