<br />o The City has taken the Energy Star Challenge to promote energy and water <br />conservation. Mr. Cruz encouraged Board members to check out the website <br />energystar.gov for more information. <br />o Mr. Cruz showed the Board members several Parks and Rec magazines, Energy <br />conservation and green issues have been very popular. <br />· Ms Herron asked if Board members can receive subscriptions to these <br />magazines. Mr, Cruz replied that we can save extra issues and hand out at <br />Board meetings. <br />o Mr. Cruz has been able to save the City between $4-5,000 on the energy bill using <br />air conditioner software and doing preventatlve maintenance such as changing a/c <br />filters and light bulbs. <br />o Ms. Sheppard asked whether the City has any water restrictions. Mr. Cruz said <br />that this was set by the St. John's River Management and was 2 days per week. <br />o Ms. Torres suggested that this information be placed on the City's website <br />because it is hard to find. <br />. Anniversary Park Update <br />o The plans should be at 100% in late summer or early falL <br /> <br />Manager's Report: <br />. Swim Lessons for ages 6 months through adult began last week and are filling quickly, <br />Open swim is now limited to Sat. and Sun. from II am-7pm, We are looking into holding <br />a water aerobics class and are currently looking for an instructor. <br />· Summer Camp began Monday with 120 children enrolled, <br />. Cinema Camp is scheduled to begin after the Lyman camp ends, This will be a 2 week <br />camp, <br />. The Country Concert will be held on Saturday August 9 from 6-9 pm, <br />. A kayak/canoe concession is in the works for north side of Secret Lake Park, It is <br />uncertain to where the rentals will take place, possibly at the Parks office. <br /> <br />Comments: <br />MT, Spence asked about the status of the Turf Bloc project at Secret Lake Park, Mr. Cruz replied <br />that seeds have been placed in the center of the blocks and they need to sprout before the area <br />can be opened for use.
