<br />CASSELBERRY PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD <br />Parks & Recreation Administration Office <br />125 E. Melody Lane, Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board was held Tuesday, February lil\ <br />2008 at the Parks and Recreation Conference Room located at 125 E. Melody Lane. Butch <br />Spence called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Board Members Present: <br />Butch Spence, Phyllis Sheppard, Liz Torres and June Herron, Sheryl Mays-Woods <br /> <br />Board Member Absent: <br />None <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br />Luis Cruz (Parks and Recreation Manager), Alicia Kardell (Parks and Recreation Office <br />Assistant), Donald Dowd (Recreation Aide) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br />J 0110 Casselberry <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes: <br />Mr. Spence made a motion to accept the January 22nd minutes, Phyllis Wallace seconded the <br />motion. The motion carried unanimously 5-0. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: <br />Mr. Casselberry commented on the design of the new City website. He felt that the colors were <br />too monochromatic and suggested using bolder, brighter colors. Mr. Casselberry also expressed <br />concern regarding the parking spaces which will be added during the upcoming Turf Block <br />project at Secret Lake Park. He questioned Mr. Cruz on the layout and whether diagonal spaces <br />would be better suited to the area. <br /> <br />Meet New Board Member: <br />Ms. Sheryl Mays-Woods was introduced as the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board's newest <br />member. <br /> <br />Impact of Tax Reform: <br />. Amendment 1 passed on January 29th <br />. The budget for FY2008 is already set. The passing of Amendment 1 will most likely <br />affect the FY2009 budget. <br />. More information regarding the impact of the tax reform will be known in July. <br />o Ms. Wallace brought up the idea of running a carnival to raise money for the City's <br />Parks and Recreation programs. <br />. Current projects and plans for Secret Lake and Anniversary Parks will not be affected by <br />the tax reform. <br />a The 60% plans for Anniversary Park aren't completed, but Mr. Cruz gave an <br />. .. ...... nun.
