<br />RESOLUTION 08-1932 <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />ADOPTING THE FINAL OPERATING MILLAGE RATE OF 4.8963 <br />MILLS FOR THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br />COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2008 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, <br />2009; ANNOUNCING THE PERCENTAGE BY WHICH THE <br />OPERATING MILLAGE DOES NOT EXCEED THE ROLLED-BACK <br />RATE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry held an initial public <br />hearing as required by Florida Statute 200.065 on the tentative millage rate on September 8, <br />2008,and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry has determined that a tax <br />levy of 4.8963 mills should be levied on all taxable real and personal property in the City of <br />Casselberry Florida for fiscal year 2008/2009. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the gross taxable value for operating purposes not exempt from taxation <br />within the City of Casselberry has been certified by the Seminole County Property Appraiser to <br />be $1,528,734,902, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry desires to adopt the final <br />operating millage rate and publicly announce the percentage change by which the final operating <br />millage rate does not exceed the rolled-back rate; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry deems that this Resolution <br />is in the best interest of the public health, safety, welfare and well-being of the citizens of <br />Casselberry. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION I. Final MilIae:e Rate. The City Commission adopts its final operating <br />millage rate of 4.8963 for the Fiscal Year commencing October I, 2008 and ending September <br />30,2009. <br /> <br />SECTION II. Rolled-Back Rate. The final operating millage of 4.8963 mills is a <br />0.815122987% decrease from the computed rolled-back rate of 4.9365 as certified by the <br />Seminole County Property Appraiser. <br /> <br />SECTION III. Notification to Seminole County. Within three (3) days of the date of <br />this Resolution, the City Clerk shall forward this Resolution adopting the final millage rate to the <br />Seminole County Property Appraiser and the Seminole County Tax Collector. <br /> <br />SECTION IV. Notification to the State of Florida. Within thirty (30) days of the date <br />of this Resolution, the City Clerk shall certify compliance with Chapter 200, Florida Statutes by <br />
