<br />IlDR Engineering <br />Nodarse & Asso'ciate~ Inc. Project No. 01-08-0483-101 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Our exploration is planned to contain the following: <br /> <br />. Stake boring locations at the site. <br /> <br />. Clear underground utilities at the site as well as is practicable to help avoid damage to know <br />underground services. <br /> <br />. Mobilize truck-mounted rotary drilling equipment to the site. <br /> <br />. Perform four (4) SPT borings to a depth of 40 feet in the approach slabs. <br /> <br />. Allow up to one (I) day of a two-person crew to perform manual probing of soils in creek, in <br />the proposed sheet pile areas, and in the approach areas to estimate the extent of erosion. <br /> <br />. Perform visual classification of the soil samples and core samples and appropriate laboratOl)' <br />tcsting of the soil samples obtained from the borings. <br /> <br />The exploration will be supervised by a qualified Geotechnical Engineer rcgistered in thc stale of <br />Florida and the rcsults of the exploration will be presented in a geotcchnical engincering rep0l1. This <br />report will specifically offer recommendations on the following items: <br /> <br />. Existing site conditions. <br /> <br />. Exploration, testing and sampling methods. <br /> <br />. Subsurface soil conditions encountered and soil classifications. <br /> <br />. Depth to groundwater at the timc of the exploration and estimated seasonal high groundwater <br />levels. . <br /> <br />. Geotechnical cngineering recommendations to assist in repair and erosion control at the <br />subjcct bridge. <br />· Geotechnical enginecring recommendations to assist in sheet pile wall design including <br />minimum sheet pile section and pile tip depths. <br /> <br />PROJECT SCHEDULE <br /> <br />Based on our present schedule, wc are prepared to mobilizc to begin the field operations for this <br />project within about five (5) to eight (8) days ofyourwritlen authorization to proceed. We anticipate <br />the field portion ofthc study to be completed in approximately two (2) days. Engineering analysis, <br />necessary laboratory work, and report preparation should be completed within approximately onc (I) <br />to two (2) weeks after the completion offield work. <br />
