Community Development Director: Ordinance 08- <br />1238 was approved by the City Commission on March 10,2008 with the following amendments: <br /> <br />. Side and rear yard setbacks were eliminated; side yard screening was eliminated and the <br />maximum length requirement for personal utility trailers was eliminated <br />. Maximum length for recreational equipment increased to less than 35' instead of less <br />than 25' (Same as Ordinance 07-1215, existing ordinance); parking locations to reflect <br />that side yard parking shall be behind the front fayade(s) (Clarified Ordinance 07-1215 <br />and provided an effective date of April I, 2008 <br />. A sketch (Sketch A) outlining the proposed screening and setbacks will be incorporated <br />in Ordinance 08-1238. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: Approval of Ordinance 08-1238 to amend portions of Ordinance 07- <br />1215 for parking of recreational equipment in residential districts. <br /> <br />Audience Input: <br /> <br />1) David Henson, 233 Bridle Path, Casselberry, Florida, stated that size limitations on a <br />recreational vehicle are not necessary if the vehicle can be parked legally. <br /> <br />3) Hank Lander, 445 Surry Run, Casselberry, Florida, stated that boats should be treated the <br />same as recreational vehicles and be required to park behind the fence line <br /> <br />4) Craig Tull, 420 Ranch Trail, Casselberry, Florida, requested clarification regarding <br />screening in the back yard versus screening in the side yard. Mr. Paradise stated that screening <br />was not required in the side yard but screening was required in the back yard, which is consistent <br />with the code passed last year. <br /> <br />5) John Casselberry, 700 S. Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida, spoke in opposition to <br />screening for backyard vehicles. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Vice Mayor/ Commissioner Colleen S. Hufford to <br />approve Ordinance 08-1238, Parking of Recreational Vehicles, as <br />amended and to incorporate "Sketch A" into the ordinance and to <br />include the "L-Shaped Garage. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Jon Miller and carried unanimously on a 5 - 0 voice <br />vote. <br /> <br />10. First Reading of Ordinances - None <br /> <br />11.
