Community Development Director: The Seminole <br />Economic Enhancement District (S.E.E.D), created by Seminole County mirrors the parameters <br />and requirements of the State of Florida Brownfields program. Resolution 08-] 861 provides for <br />City properties located in the County U.S. ] 7-92 Redevelopment Corridor (RPA) to participate in <br />the S.E.ED Program. As with Resolution 08-1860, the recommendation of the Community <br />Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is for non-residential properties only. The S.E.E.D. designation <br />allows for the provision of environmental remediation, rehabilitation and may economic <br />redevelopment incentives for the area. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: Approve Resolution 08-1861 on first reading and present to the <br />Commission for the second reading and final public hearing on February 25, 2008. <br /> <br />Audience Input (A sign-in sheet was available for audience participants as required by Statues) <br /> <br />]) John G. Ordinance 08-1236 - Amending City Charter Sec. 36, Procedure for Placing Names on <br />Ballot; Alternative Method of Qualifying <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 08-] 236 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />SECTION 36, PROCEDURE FOR PLACING NAMES ON BALLOT; ALTERNATIVE <br />METHOD OF QUALIFYING OF ARTICLE VII, ELECTIONS, OF THE CITY <br />CHARTER; TO CHANGE THE DATE ON WHICH PETITIONS ARE TO BE <br />RECEIVED BY THE CITY AND TO CHANGE THE QUALIFYING DATES FOR <br />MAYOR/CITY COMMISSION CANDIDATES; AMENDING BY ORDINANCE, AS <br />PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 100.3605, FLORIDA STATUTES; PROVIDING FOR <br />SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation bv Barbara Lipscomb, City Manae:er: Ordinance 08-1236 is mandated <br />pursuant to the January 29, 2008 Election, where the voters approved City Charter Amendment 2 <br />to change the City election date to coincide with the August State Primary Election provide for a <br />run off election, if necessary, to coincide with the November State General Election. Ordinance <br />08-1236 will approve candidate qualifying period for the third full week in June. The ordinance <br />also approves the petition deadline for the alternative method of qualitying for the third Tuesday <br />in May. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: Approval of Ordinance 08-] 236 on first reading and schedule the final <br />public hearing for February 25, 2008. <br /> <br />Audience Input - None <br />
