RFQ _ also annoooced on the City of Casselberry website and the <br />Florida Redevelopment Association website. <br />3. A ~fication meeting _ held on September 18", 2007 for all pJospeai..e <br />respondents. This included a question /IIId answer session regarding technical <br />aspects of the project. clarifications to the RFQ or other pertinent issues or areas <br />of concern. The RFQ response deadline _ October I I, 2007 and two responses were <br />received; Rey Group in partnership with Homes by Carmen Dominguez, and <br />CentUJy Retail in partnership with Florida First Devel~ Corporation. <br />5. A Steel'ing Committee review of the written responses occurred on October 22. <br />2007 foUowed by pres .Ildions and interviews of Respondents on November 2, <br />2007. <br />6. The Steel'ing Committee conducted site visits ofRey Group and CentUJy <br />Retail/Florida First projects on November 2"" and December 18" .~eIy. <br />7. Following the site tours the Steering Committee met on January 9, 2008 to disaJSS <br />their complete review of each Respondent /IIId dett...uiue the most qualified <br />respondent to oodertake the project with the City and CRA <br /> <br />1l~: It is important to note that both the Rey Group and Centmy Retail/llld <br />their partners are accomplished developers with skilled staff /IIId dedicated management <br />Each developer has oodertaken sophisticated projects with success and both indicated <br />tremendous interest and desire in being selected for the City Center project <br /> <br />The Key Gnup is /III OrI/111do based developer with a rich history in residential <br />development It has also developed over lOO,OOOsf of commercial space and is ClDTently <br />planning the development of twice that amooot Rey Group developed residential town <br />homes in Baldwin Park and is currently leasing recently completed office/warebouse <br />space on Goldenrod Road. Other Rey Group projects include Villa Sol, a vacation home <br />commIIIIity and the acquisition and retail repositioning of a CI8Sll B/C shopping center in <br />Kissimmee. The Rey Group ......-5 to have an excellent reputation for quality home <br />construction. It's accomplishment with retail and office development is less established. <br /> <br />Ceutury RetlIil is privately held by Lakeland, Florida based CentUJy Realty Foods, Inc. <br />which has over 600 employees, owns over sixty-five retail projects and five, CI8Sll A <br />office buildings over 50,000 square feet. Centwy Realty FWlds' Principal owner, Lany <br />Maxwell also owns a controlling interest in CenterState Bank which holds over $900 <br />minion in deposits and over S600 million in loans with affiliate branches in Polk, <br />Osceola, Lake, Pasco and Hillsborough Cowrties. <br /> <br />Centwy Retail's business model is to develop or acquire retail and office projects /IIId <br />then retain ownership of those projects for the long-term.
