Resolution 07-1819 - Establishing a Charter Review Advisory Committee The City Clerk read Resolution 07-1819 by title as follows: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A CHARTER REVIEW ADVISORY COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP OF THE COMMITTEE; ESTABLISHING RESPONSmILITIES AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS; PROVIDING FOR A METHOD OF FACILITATION; PROVIDING FOR LEGAL AND STAFF ASSISTANCE TO THE COMMITIEE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." Staff Presentation: Resolution 07-1819 establishes a Charter Review Advisory Ad-Hoc Committee and defmes the Committee's responsibilities and reporting requirements. Each of the five members of the City Commission will appoint two members to the Committee. The Committee will be staffed by the City Clerk's Office and facilitated by Ms. Marilyn Crotty of the UCF Institute of Government. $10,000 has been budgeted in the proposed 2008 budget for Charter review and public education, which includes the fee of $4,000 for the facilitator. The Committee will meet on the I st and 3<<1 Monday of each month beginning in October 2007. Staff Recommendation: Approve Resolution 07-1819 establishing the Charter Review Committee. The names submitted by the Commission for appointment will be ratified at the September 24, 2007 meeting.
