<br />RESOLUTION NO. 07-1783 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />ADOPTING A CODE OF BOARDMANSHIP POLICY; REPEALING <br />RESOLUTION 06-1673; PROVIDING FOR DISTRIBUTION WITH THE <br />APPLICATION FOR BOARD/COMMITTEES AND TO CITY <br />COMMISSION CANDIDATES; PROVIDING FOR THE RIGHT TO <br />RESCIND BOARD/COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS; PROVIDING FOR <br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WIIEREAS, the performance of duties and responsibilities of elected and appointed Board and <br />Commission Members and the manner in which their duties are performed have direct impact on the <br />reputation of the City of Casselberry and on the morale of both employees and residents; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry adopted a Code of Boardmanship <br />policy via Resolution 06-1673 on April 24, 2006 as a public statement of expected Board and Commission <br />Member Conduct and Ethics; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to repeal Resolution 06-1673 and substitute it with this <br />Resolution to further defme their expectations regarding the way in which all City Commission, Board and <br />Committee Members conduct themselves; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Code of Boardmanship policy will be provided with the application for <br />boards/committees and to City Commission candidates; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission reserves the right to rescind appointments to Boards/Committee <br />members demonstrating inappropriate conduct based on the Boardmanship policy. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That the City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby adopts the Code of <br />Boardmanship Policy attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof, as a public statement of <br />expected Board and Commission Member Conduct and Ethics <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. Severabilitv. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be <br />invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect <br />of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. Effective Date.
