RESOLUTION - 06-1691 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY AND SEMINOLE COUNTY PROVIDING FOR THE FUNDING, DESIGN, AND CONSTRUCTION OF SEGMENT 1 (PRIORITY I) OF THE CASSELBERRY BIKE TRAIL THROUGH RESIDENTIAL CASSELBERRY AND UNINCORPORATED SEMINOLE COUNTY CONNECTING PARKS, SCHOOLS AND NEIGHBORHOODS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry Comprehensive Plan requires the provision of an interconnected continuous bicycle system and the City desires to construct such facilities to benefit its citizens; and WHEREAS, the Segment I of the bike trail is a cooperative funding effort between the City and the County in the development of multi-use trail and supporting facilities; and WHEREAS, the trail will ultimately allow for people to access Casselberry Elementary, South Seminole Middle School, Wirz Park, Dew Drop Park, Crystal Bowl Park, and the County's Trail system; and WHEREAS, the City and the County desire to enter into an interlocal agreement to facilitate funding, design, and construction, ofthe trail; and WHEREAS, the parties desire that the City shall be responsible for procuring the design and engineering construction plans, the construction, and thereafter for operation and maintenance of the Trail; and WHEREAS, the parties desire that the County shall provide the City funding for all costs of said design and engineering construction plans and construction of the Trail up to a maximum total of $ 1,000,000.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission supports the development of Segment I of Priority I of the Casselberry Bike Trail, and hereby authorizes the Mayor, on behalf of the City Commission, to approve Interlocal Agreement between the City of Casselberry and Seminole County. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed.
