ORDINANCE NO. /77 <br /> <br />A NONEMERGENCY ORDINANCE IMPOSING A TAX <br />ON EACH AND EVERY PURCHASE OF ELECTRICITY, <br />METERED OR BOTTLED GAS (NATURAL LIQUIFIED <br />PETROLEUM GAS OR MANUFACTURED), WATER SER- <br />VICE, TELEPHONE SERVICE, AND TELEGRAPH <br />SERVICE WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING <br />FOR THE COLLECTION THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR <br />CERTAIN EXEMPTIONS FROM SAID TAX; and PRE- <br />SCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF <br />THIS ORDINANCE; CONFLICTS; PROVIDING <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA: <br /> <br /> SECTION I - There is hereby imposed and levied by the <br />City of Casselberry, Florida, a tax upon each and every purchase <br />of electricity, metered or bottled gas (natural liquified petro- <br />leum gas or manufactured), water service, telephone service, <br />and telegraph service within the corporate limits of the City <br />of Casselberry in the amount of ten percent (10%) of each pay- <br />ment received by the seller for such utility service or com- <br />modity, which tax shall be paid by the purchaser to the seller <br />for the use of said City at the time of paying the charge <br />therefor, but not less often than monthly. The ten percent <br />(10%) tax herein levied may be computed on the aggregate amount <br />of sales during such monthly period; provided the amount of tax <br />collectible shall be calculated to the nearest whole cent. <br />Further, the tax collectible shall never exceed the sum of <br />Three Dollars ($3.00) on each utility billing from each resi- <br />dential user and shall never exceed the sum of Two Hundred <br />Seventy-Five Dollars ($275.00) on each utility billing from each <br />corranercial use for the services and commodities described herein <br /> <br /> <br />
