ORDINANCE 20-1544 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />AMENDING SECTION 86-192, "ADJUSTMENTS OF WATER AND SEWER <br />BILLS" OF CHAPTER 86, UTILITIES, ARTICLE III, DIVISION 2 - RATES <br />AND CHARGES, TO BETTER DELINEATE THE CITY'S AUTHORITY TO <br />ADJUST UTILITY BILLS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, <br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to provide its utility customers with more detail regarding <br />adjustments allowed to customers' water and sewer bills for proven leak adjustments, beyond what is <br />currently provided in Section 86-192 of the City Code, and amend the adjustment request process; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, by Code and Bond covenant, the City is unable to provide free water to any <br />customer, absent proof of error or malfunction of equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission finds the new provisions will be in the best interests of <br />the citizens of the City of Casselberry; and <br />WHEREAS, words with double underlined type shall constitute additions to the original <br />text and s*�'-e through type shall constitute deletions to the original text, and asterisks (* * *) <br />indicate that text shall remain unchanged from the language existing prior to adoption of this <br />Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. AMENDMENT AND CLARIFCATION OF SECTION 86-192. Section <br />86-192(d), "Adjustments of water and sewer bills", of Chapter 86, Utilities, Article III, Division 2 - <br />Rates and Charges of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Casselberry, Florida, is amended as <br />follows: <br />Sec. 86-192. — Adjustments of water and sewer bills. <br />*** <br />(d) Adjustments will be made based on whether the adjustment is requested for <br />proven increased water consumption, or for unexplained or unintended <br />increased water consumption: <br />For proven increased water consumption: <br />a. All customers requesting an adjustment to water or sewer bills for <br />water leaks must submit an Adjustment Request Application within <br />45 90 days from the date of repair utility bill date, including proof of <br />
