ORDINANCE 20-1537 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 86, UTILITIES, ARTICLE II, SEWERS OF THE <br />CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, <br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry's Sewer Use Ordinance was last updated in 2019 to <br />reactivate the Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Florida Department of <br />Environmental Protection have promulgated new regulations regarding wastewater discharges <br />from dental facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, certain wastewater discharges from dental facilities are regulated under the <br />City of Casselberry's Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment Program; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff, the City Attorney, and the Florida Department of Environmental <br />Protection have worked together to update the ordinance in order to comply with the new <br />regulations; and <br />WHEREAS, words with double underlined type shall constitute additions to the original <br />text and o�en� type shall constitute deletions to the original text, and asterisks (* * *) <br />indicate that text shall remain unchanged from the language existing prior to adoption of this <br />Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. AMENDING SEC. 86-27. Section 86-27, "Definitions" of Chapter 86, Utilities, <br />Article II, Division 1 — Generally of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Casselberry, Florida, <br />is hereby amended as follows: <br />Sec. 86-27 — Definitions. <br />(a) The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this Article, shall have the meanings <br />ascribed to them in this Subsection, except where the context clearly indicates a different <br />meaning: <br />Abnormal High Strength Wastes means wastes having a CBOD 5 above 300 milligrams per liter, <br />or any waste containing fats, waxes, grease or oil in excess of 100 milligrams per liter or suspended <br />solids in excess of 300 milligrams per liter. <br />
