RESOLUTION 20-3150 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH M. T. CAUSLEY, LLC TO PROVIDE BUILDING OFFICIAL AND RELATED SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry has a Building Safety Division within the Community Development Department that is funded by the Building Safety Fund; and WHEREAS, building safety, plans review, inspections, building permit issuance, and authority to occupy are governed in the State of Florida, more specifically in Florida Statutes (F.S.) Chapter 468 and 553; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry Code of Ordinances, more specifically in Sections 1-4.4, 1-4.7, 14-77, and 46-42, grant powers and duties that define a City Building Official to ensure compliance with all codes and ordinances for life -safety matters; and WHEREAS, the City requires a Building Official and an employee staff for the Building Safety Division with appropriate State of Florida certifications related to competent knowledge and performance of duties in the regulation and inspection of buildings and other structures for construction; and WHEREAS, the City's Procurement Division has followed protocol and properly solicited for Building Official Services from qualified vendors for these services; and WHEREAS, City staff reviewed the proposals and contract draft, properly ranked and selected the preferred vendor, M.T. Causley, LLC, received hourly rates from this firm, and finds the received contract and fee schedule acceptable to be executed to achieve the needs of the City for Building Official Services; and WHEREAS, the Agreement designates M.T. Causley, LLC as the sole and primary provider of Building Official and related services for the City of Casselberry. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the Agreement for Building Official Services with M. T. Causley, LLC, as provided in the attached Exhibit "A", and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the City of Casselberry. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed.
