The plan also calls for notification and education of citizens
living around the lakes that are affected. The commission also approved an additional $27,500 be
spent for continued large-scale harvesting of invasive aquatic plants from Middle Lake Triplet.

Commissioners also selected an engineering firm, Kimley-Horn and Associates, to assist with the
planning and establishment of a transportation concurrency exception area. If the State approves the
exemption area, it will allow the City to modify its response with regard to traffic capacity numbers on
roads in the Community Redevelopment Area, including the site of the planned City Center, which will
help in the development of this downtown area.

In another transportation matter, the City Commission passed a resolution in support of “expeditious”
funding and completion of the U.S. Highway 17-92 interchange at State Road 436 as well as the
widening of U.S. Highway 17-92 from Shepard Road to Lake Mary Boulevard.

And finally, City Clerk Thelma McPherson announced her retirement, effective June 1, 2008.
McPherson has been with the City of Casselberry for 28 years, with many of those years as the City
Clerk. McPherson thanked the Commissioners for allowing her to serve the citizens of the City of
Casselberry.

###
www.casselberry.org
