RESOLUTION 04-1476 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE." WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry is a member of the Florida League of Cities and participates in its legislative initiatives; and WHEREAS, the Florida League of Cities has established, through its members and committees, legislative objectives and programs and priorities for the upcoming year; and WHEREAS, City officials have, in the past, asked for a proper, broadly-based set of guidelines and directions for their actions and comments and interactions with various intergovernmental officials, specifically as they may be related to the upcoming legislative session. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE. The Mayor and members of the City Commission, and City Manager and appropriate staff, as directed by the City Manager, are hereby authorized and encouraged to pursue legislative objectives consistent with the legislative program established and approved by the Florida League of Cities in its 2004 Legislative Policy Statement, included herein as Attachment A. SECTION TWO. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION THREE. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. SECTION FOUR. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of February, A.D. 2004.
