<br />City Commission Meeting <br />June 12, 2006 <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />(ULDR) - Parking of Prohibited Vehicles in Residential Districts (LPA 6-04) <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 06-1194 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />PART III,ARTICLE X, SECTION 3-1O.9(A)(I) OF THE CASSELBERRY CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES ENTITLED "PARKING OF VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL <br />DISTRICTS;" ESTABLISHING THE CRITERIA DESIGNATING A PROHIBITED <br />VEHICLE; PROVIDING APPROPRIATE PARKING LOCATIONS AND <br />SCREENING OPTIONS FOR PROHIBITED VEHICLES IN SINGLE FAMILY AND <br />MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS; ALLOWING PARKING OF <br />PROHIBITED VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS WHILE ACTIVELY <br />ENGAGED IN SERVICE WORK OR MAKING DELIVERIES; AMENDING <br />CASSELBERRY CODE OF ORDINANCES, PART 11, CHAPTER 82, SECTION 82- <br />127 ENTITLED "TRUCK PARKING IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS" AND SECTION <br />82-134 ENTITLED "PARKING OF LARGE VEHICLES" TO PROVIDE <br />CONSISTENCY WITH PART III, ARTICLE X, SECTION 3-10.9; PROVIDING <br />FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Revisions to Section 3-10.9 of the City Code regarding the parking of commercial <br />vehicles by the Planning and Zoning Commission began in late 2004. The City Commission had asked the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission to review the parking ordinance incrementally. The Planning and Zoning <br />recommendation will be presented in three ordinances. Ordinance 06-1194 is the first segment of this <br />review. The ordinance has classified the following vehicles as prohibited: <br /> <br />1) Vehicles with a total commercial sign area that exceeds 4 square feet, notto exceed 2 square <br />feet of commercial sign area on anyone side; or <br /> <br />2) Vehicles that exceed a total length of22 feet, including attachments; or <br /> <br />3) Vehicles that exceed a total height of 8 feet, including attachments; or <br /> <br />4) Vehicles or equipment used exclusively forcommercial or industrial purposes, including but <br />not limited to; farm, grading or industrial equipment; step vans, stake-bed trucks; flatbed <br />trucks; trailers; dump trucks; trucks without a bed; buses; tractor cabs; tractor trailers; <br />wreckers; hearses; tow dollies; vehicles with three or more axles; utility bed trucks; trucks <br />of any size which have operating motorized cooling units; and trucks with scrolling signs; <br />or <br /> <br />5) Any vehicle used for a commercial or industrial purpose with accessories or attachments <br />(racks, toolboxes and similar structures) designed to haul, store ortransporttools, equipment <br />and lor materials such as ladders, pipes, hoses, cord, scaffolding and the like. Exception: <br />pickup trucks when the equipment does not exceed a height of 6 inches above the factory <br />standard side panel of the truck bed. <br />
