RESOLUTION NO. 05-1572 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A BOARD APPOINTMENTS PROCEDURE POLICY AND APPROVING AN APPLICATION FORM; REPEALING RESOLUTION 96- 954, REGARDING TERM LIMITS TO REQUIRE A BREAK IN SERVICE OF ONE YEAR; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE." WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry desires to ensure that citizens are fully aware of opportunities to serve on City Boards, and that citizens understand the application process, including the deadlines to apply, the information required to be furnished in the application, the possible background checks that may be required and term limits; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to formalize the process for City Board appointments, to ensure that each applicant is given proper consideration; and WHEREAS, in Resolution 96-954, the City Commission set a policy regarding term limits and the necessary break in service, and the City Commission would like to modify that resolution to require a one year break in service for Board members. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby adopts the Board Appointment Procedures attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. That the City Commission hereby approves the Board Application Form attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and made a part hereof. SECTION 3. Conflicts. That Resolution 96-954 and other resolutions in conflict are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
