The Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance was led by <br />Commissioner A1 Clark. Mayor Pronovost recognized guests from the City of Longwood, <br />former City Commissioners and Volunteer Advisory Board Members. <br /> <br />Mayor Pronovost stated that the purpose of the meeting was to hear presentations by investor- <br />owned electrical providers. This workshop was the first in a series to hear from such providers. <br />The two presenters for this first workshop were Progress Energy (formerly Florida Power <br />Corporation) and Enco Utility Services. He gave a brief overview of the status of franchise <br />negotiations with Florida Power and the refusal of Florida Power to honor the purchase option in <br />the Franchise Agreement with the City. <br /> <br /> <br />
