ORDINANCE 24-1594 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />AMENDING ARTICLE XVI, SIGNS, CHAPTER III, PERFORMANCE <br />CRITERIA OF THE UNIFIED LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS <br />TO AMEND SECTION 3-16.4, ON -PREMISES TEMPORARY SIGN <br />REGULATIONS, TO REDUCE THE SQUARE FOOTAGE OF <br />TEMPORARY NON-RESIDENTIAL SIGNS, AND TO REMOVE THE <br />REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR NONCOMMERCIAL <br />TEMPORARY SIGNS AND SMALL COMMERCIAL SIGNS; PROVIDING <br />FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry, Florida, (City) maintains a Unified Land <br />Development Regulations (ULDR) that provide standards for the use and design of real property <br />within the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need to review and modify existing sign regulations <br />in order to adapt to changing circumstances and promote ease of compliance for residents and <br />businesses; and <br />WHEREAS, ULDR Section 3-16.4, "On -premises temporary sign regulations," currently <br />imposes a $4.00 fee and registration requirement for all on -premises temporary signs with <br />commercial messaging; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined that the removal of such a registration requirement <br />for on -premises temporary signs under six (6) feet, except on property for sale or lease, would not <br />compromise the integrity of the temporary signage regulations overall; and <br />WHEREAS, removing the fee for temporary signs six (6) square feet or less provides for <br />a more streamlined application process and conducive environment for temporary signage while <br />ensuring compliance with established standards; and <br />WHEREAS, the City finds that the additional proposed amendments, including reducing <br />the square footage of non-residential signs and reducing the minimum spacing required between <br />temporary signs in residential areas, will contribute positively to the aesthetics and functionality <br />of signage within the City without compromising the overall goals and standards set forth in the <br />Unified Land Development Regulations; and <br />WHEREAS, words with double underlined type shall constitute additions to the original <br />text and stfi e thfough type shall constitute deletions to the original text, and asterisks (* * *) <br />indicate that text shall remain unchanged from the language existing prior to adoption of this <br />Ordinance; and <br />Ordinance 24-1594 <br />Pagel of 5 <br />
