RESOLUTION 10-2117 <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING A FOREST HEALTH IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVE GRANT <br />APPLICATION TO CONDUCT A TREE PLANTING PROJECT, AND APPROVAL TO <br />EXECUTE A GRANT MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT IF AWARDED SUCH <br />GRANT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />WHEREAS, trees are an important part of our community as they improve water and air <br />quality, improve community aesthetics, and increase employment opportunities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry has been designated a Tree City USA by the Arbor <br />Day Foundation for a third consecutive year; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry desires to apply for the Forest Health Improvement <br />Initiative Grant Program to fund a tree planting project for Wirz Trail Section II; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry acknowledges and plans to uphold the philosophy <br />of "Right Tree/Right Place" in selecting tree species and suitable planting locations throughout <br />the project; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry acknowledges that if awarded the Forest Health <br />Improvement Initiative Grant, the City will execute a Grant Memorandum of Agreement with the <br />Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the <br />Forest Health Improvement Initiative Grant application for submittal and, if awarded the grant, <br />authorizes approval of the Grant Memorandum of Agreement for the purpose of planting trees <br />along Wirz Trail Section Il, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the <br />City. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION M. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV.
