RESOLUTION 13-2528 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE TENTATIVE MILLAGE RATE FOR THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2013 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2014; ANNOUNCING THE PERCENTAGE BY WHICH THE TENTATIVE MILLAGE EXCEEDS THE ROLLED -BACK RATE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry must provide public notice of and hold a public hearing on the tentative ad valorem millage rate pursuant to Florida TRIM Statute (F.S. 200.065); and WHEREAS, the public notice for the public hearing for the tentative millage rate was provided to all taxpayers of the City of Casselberry by the Seminole County Property Appraiser in the Truth in Millage (TRIM) notice, which was mailed to taxpayers in August 2013; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry desires to adopt the tentative millage rate of 5.4500 and publicly announce the tentative millage rate exceeds the rolled -back rate by 2.70 percent; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry deems that this Resolution is in the best interest of the public health, safety, welfare and well-being of the citizens of Casselberry. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Tentative Millage Rate. The City Commission adopts its tentative millage rate of 5.4500 for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2013 and ending September 30, 2014. SECTION II. Rolled -Back Rate. The tentative millage of 5.4500 set forth in Section I immediately above is a 2.70 percent increase from the computed rolled -back rate of 5.3065 as certified by the Seminole County Property Appraiser. SECTION III. Public Notice. Within fifteen (15) days of the date of this Resolution, the City Clerk shall advertise in a newspaper of general circulation the City's intent to adopt the final millage rate and shall hold a public hearing to adopt the final millage rate not less than two (2) days or more than five (5) days after the date the advertisement is first published. SECTION IV. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed.
