RESOLUTION 20-3214 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A 2021-2025 <br />INTER -LOCAL VOLUNTARY COOPERATION OPERATIONAL <br />ASSISTANCE MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT — THE CITY/COUNTY CANINE <br />(K-9) UNIT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY AND THE CITIES OF <br />ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, APOPKA, LAKE MARY, LONGWOOD, <br />MAITLAND, OVIEDO, SANFORD, WINTER PARK, WINTER SPRINGS, <br />SANFORD AIRPORT AUTHORITY, THE UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL <br />FLORIDA BOARD OF TRUSTEES ON BEHALF OF ITS POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT AND THE SEMINOLE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry wishes to enter into a 2021-2025 Inter -Local <br />Voluntary Cooperation Operational Assistance Mutual Aid Agreement — The City/County <br />Canine (K-9) Unit with the Cities of Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Lake Mary, Longwood, <br />Maitland, Oviedo, Sanford, Winter Park, Winter Springs, Sanford Airport Authority, The <br />University of Central Florida Board of Trustees on behalf of its Police Department and the <br />Seminole County Sheriff's Office to extend mutual aid in the form of law enforcement services <br />and resources to adequately respond to continuing multi -jurisdictional law enforcement <br />problems, so as to protect the public peace and safety, and preserve the lives and property of the <br />people. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the <br />2021-2025 Inter -Local Voluntary Cooperation Operational Assistance Mutual Aid Agreement <br />— The City/County Canine (K-9) Unit attached herein and authorizes the Mayor to execute said <br />document on behalf of the City. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with <br />any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair <br />the validity, force, or effects of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV.
