CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Glancy called the Joint Workshop of the Casselberry City Commission and the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission to order at 6:07 p.m. <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Mayor Glancy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />3. ROLL CALL <br />The City Clerk called the roll of Elected Officials and the Planning and Zoning Commission Members. All <br />were present, with the exception of Commissioner Bill Hufford. <br />Mayor Glancy announced that Commissioner Bill Hufford had advised that he would be out of town and <br />unable to attend tonight's meeting and requested that his absence be excused. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Meadows moved to excuse the absence of Commissioner Bill <br />Hufford from the March 27, 2019 City Commission/Planning & Zoning <br />Commission Joint Workshop. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor <br />Aramendia. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 4-0. <br />4. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Healthy Design: Living Up to Casselberry's Vision <br />Presentation: Deputy Public Works Director/City Engineer Kelly Brock gave a brief introduction and <br />introduced Mr. Mark Fenton, a nationally recognized public health, planning and transportation consultant, <br />Adjunct Professor at Tufts University, and former host of the America's Walking series on PBS (Public <br />Broadcasting Station), who gave a PowerPoint and interactive presentation entitled Does Healthy Design = <br />Healthy Markets which contained the following components: <br />- Youthful Recollections <br />- Changes in Walking & Cycling to School, 1969 to 2001 <br />- Trends in Childhood Obesity & Overweight <br />- Physical Activity Guidelines 2008 — Surgeon General's Report 1996 <br />o Average 30 minutes/day <br />o Average 50 minutes/day for youth <br />- Physical Activity in the US Measured by Accelerometer <br />- Exercise Participation <br />- What Supports Active Transportation? <br />0 Land Use <br />
