RESOLUTION 19-3116 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF A LOCAL AGENCY PROGRAM AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF CASSELBERRY ELEMENTARY/QUEENS <br />MIRROR CIRCLE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING IMPROVEMENTS; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberiy is committed to making its community safer for <br />people walking of all ages and abilities; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2013 the City submitted a Florida Safe Routes to School application to <br />receive funding for proposed pedestrian safety improvements to Queens Mirror Circle in the <br />vicinity of South Lost Lalce Lane to benefit people walking, especially students of Casselberry <br />Elementary; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed improvements were programmed in the State of Florida <br />Department of Transportation's (FDOT's) Work Program for State Fiscal Year 2019-2020; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has locally funded and completed the design of the proposed <br />improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, a Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement with FDOT is necessary in order <br />for the project to be able to construct the project using federal funds; and <br />WHEREAS, FDOT has provided a proposed LAP Agreement for this purpose; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the aforementioned Agreement and finds it acceptable <br />to meet the needs of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the Local <br />Agency Program Agreement with the State of Florida Department of Transportation for the <br />construction of the Casselberry Elementary/Queens Mirror Circle Pedestrian Crossing <br />hnprovements and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document, attached herewith, on behalf of <br />the City. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />
