RESOLUTION 19-3080 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE IMPLEMENTATION <br />OF THE CASSELBERRY MEMORIAL PARK BENCH PROGRAM; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, several Casselberry residents have expressed the desire to purchase park <br />benches in memory of loved ones; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff explored the idea and identified the Casselberry Memorial Park <br />Bench Program as a viable means to facilitate this request; and <br />WHEREAS, this program allows for the purchase of standardized park benches uniform to <br />the design style of other benches inside the City's parks (Victor Stanley Classic Series 6 -foot black <br />bench) in honor of loved ones and/or special occasions; and <br />WHEREAS, the Recreation Division with consider applications twice a year in the initial <br />amount of $2,500/bench; and <br />WHEREAS, the program will provide for the cost of the bench, a commemorative <br />plaque, freight/delivery, concrete pad, and installation; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff will work with all applicants to identify available park bench <br />locations throughout the City; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff presented the program's concept to the Parks and Recreation <br />Advisory Board (PRAB) for review and recommendations; and <br />WHEREAS, the PRAB, at its May 8, 2018 meeting, reviewed the Casselberry Memorial <br />Park Bench Program and recommended City Commission approval. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the <br />implementation of the Casselberry Memorial Park Bench Program. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />
