CASSLLBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of November 15, 2017 —Joint workshop <br />Page 2 of 7 <br />Mayor Glancy called the Joint Workshop of the Casselberry City Commission and the Parks and Recreation <br />Advisory Board to order at 6:04 p.m. <br />r <br />Mayor Glancy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />The City Clerk called the roll of Elected Officials and Board Members. All were present with the exception of <br />Board Member Dia Nordstrom. <br />i ,11 r � ,I 111, <br />Presentation: City Manager Randy Newlon gave a brief introduction and explained that the purpose of the <br />workshop was to advance the City's Parks, Recreation, Pathways and Open Spaces Master Plan which had <br />been approved earlier in the fiscal year by the City Commission. He advised that the workshop would include <br />a brief overview of the Plan and discussions regarding short term and long term implementation strategies, <br />improvements which had already been made, future needed improvements and options for funding for future <br />improvements and would conclude with a request for guidance on four primary questions relating to the Plan. <br />He introduced the following key staff members whom he noted would possibly be contributing to the <br />discussion: Public Works Director Marl-, Gisclar, Deputy Public Works Director/City Engineer Kelly Brock, <br />Maintenance Manager Steve Spencer, Recreation Manager Linda Moore, Recreation & Events Supervisor <br />Lynn Hoppes and Parks & Facilities Supervisor Chuck Smith. He then introduced Ms. Ginger Corless of <br />Tindale Oliver, the City's consultant which prepared the Parks, Recreation, Pathways and Open Spaces Master <br />Plan, who gave a presentation highlighting components of the Master Plan including the Vision and Mission <br />Statements, Guiding Principles, Service Enhancements, Summary of Capital Costs, and the roles of the Parks <br />and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB), the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and the City <br />Commission in implementation, funding and maintenance of the Plan. <br />Ms. Corless facilitated discussions amongst the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the City <br />Commission that included the following components and posed a key question to the group after each of the <br />four main discussion topics: <br />
