RESOLUTION 11 -2236 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY GRANT APPLICATION TO EMPLOY A TEMPORARY URBAN FORESTRY PROFESSIONAL, AND APPROVAL TO EXECUTE A GRANT MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT IF AWARDED SUCH GRANT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." WHEREAS, trees are an important part of our community as they improve water and air quality, improve community aesthetics, and increase employment opportunities; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry desires to apply for the Urban and Community Forestry Grant to fiend the temporary employment of an urban forestry professional; and WHEREAS, the urban forestry professional will be responsible for tasks such as maintaining the City's tree inventory, providing landscape design expertise for proposed projects, monitoring tree disease issues in the City, and implementing outreach programs to educate the community; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry acknowledges that if awarded the Urban and Community Forestry Grant, the City will enter into a Grant Memorandum of Agreement with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the Urban and Community Forestry Grant Application for submittal and, if awarded the grant, will sign a Grant Memorandum of Agreement for the purpose of employing an urban forestry professional, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the City SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION HI. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawfitl, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of , A.D. 2011. ATTEST: Donna G.
