RESOLUTION 11 -2236 <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING AN URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY GRANT APPLICATION <br />TO EMPLOY A TEMPORARY URBAN FORESTRY PROFESSIONAL, AND <br />APPROVAL TO EXECUTE A GRANT MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT IF <br />AWARDED SUCH GRANT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />WHEREAS, trees are an important part of our community as they improve water and air <br />quality, improve community aesthetics, and increase employment opportunities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry desires to apply for the Urban and Community <br />Forestry Grant to fiend the temporary employment of an urban forestry professional; and <br />WHEREAS, the urban forestry professional will be responsible for tasks such as <br />maintaining the City's tree inventory, providing landscape design expertise for proposed <br />projects, monitoring tree disease issues in the City, and implementing outreach programs to <br />educate the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry acknowledges that if awarded the Urban and <br />Community Forestry Grant, the City will enter into a Grant Memorandum of Agreement with the <br />Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the <br />Urban and Community Forestry Grant Application for submittal and, if awarded the grant, will <br />sign a Grant Memorandum of Agreement for the purpose of employing an urban forestry <br />professional, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the City <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION HI. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawfitl, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV.
