RESOLUTION 11 -2229 <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />DESIGNATING THE THREE BALL FIELDS LOCATED AT WIRZ PARK <br />TO BE NAMED THE "CLIFF STONE BALL FIELDS" IN HONOR OF <br />CLIFF STONE, WHO HAD SERVED AS PRESIDENT OF CASSELBERRY <br />LITTLE LEAGUE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />WHEREAS, Cliff Stone, who had served both as the current and past President of <br />Casselberry Little League, helped strengthen the relationship between the City of Casselberry <br />and Casselberry Little League over the past two decades; and <br />WHEREAS, Cliff Stone passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2011 and the City of <br />Casselberry, Casselberry Little League family, and the Southern District lost a dedicated <br />volunteer and selfless leader; and <br />WHEREAS, Cliff Stone recognized that participation in sports by young people <br />promotes sportsmanship, develops self esteem, physical fitness, and discipline, and is an <br />important avenue in molding character for the future leaders of the City and helped raise funds so <br />that underprivileged youth could qualify for a scholarship; and <br />WHEREAS, Cliff Stone has left a lasting impression and legacy throughout the City <br />which will be enjoyed by many for generations to come; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry wishes to honor the memory of the Cliff Stone and <br />his countless contributions to the Casselberry community and youth sports by designating the three <br />ball fields at Wirz Park, located at 806 Mark David Blvd., to be named the "Cliff Stone Ball Fields ". <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby designates the three <br />ball fields at Wirz Park to be named and known as the "Cliff Stone Ball Fields ". <br />Section 2. Effective Date.
