CASSELBERRY CIVIC CENTER

Presentation: Ms. Kristen Chamberlain, Special Projects Coordinator, gave a presentation regarding the
planning for a civic center. At the City Commission Retreat in February 2008, the Commission
reaffirmed its commitment to continue development of a civic center for the City of Casselberry by
maintaining this concept as one of the City Manager's top goals. As a result, staff spent time over the
last year discussing and clarifYing location and funding options as well as discussing a public-private
venture with developers. Due to the economic environment over the last year, there was little developer
interest, with only one developer having some nominal interest in a joint retail/public facility. A copy of
the presentation is attached to and made a part of these minutes.

Discussion: The City Commission discussed the four (4) building programs presented in February 2008
(Police Conversion, Triplet Lake Drive Site, Concord Center and Concord Center with Retail) as well as
