Solomon, Commissioner <br /> <br />STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Barbara Lipscomb, City Manager <br />Thelma McPherson, City Clerk <br />Donna Gardner, Deputy City Clerk <br />John Pavlis, Police Chief <br />Donald Harkins, Jr., Fire Chief <br />Dale Metz, Deputy Fire Chief <br />Gerald Paradise, Community Development Director <br />Matt Fortini, Administrative Services Director <br />Steve Olson, Community Relations Coordinator <br /> <br />Workshop Called to Order by Mayor Bob Goff at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Fire Services Assessment Fees Reoort <br /> <br />Mayor Goff questioned the necessity of the workshop because of an article in the Orlando <br />that stated the vote of three Commissioners on the fire assessment issue which, in his <br />opinion, casts a shadow on the objectivity of the City Commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Doerner stated that the Sentinel could print whatever they want but their <br />opinion has nothing to do with the outcome of the final vote of the Commission on an <br />issue. She stated that she had consistently voted in opposition but anyone can change <br />their mind. <br /> <br />Commissioner Miller stated that the Commission should move forward with an open <br />mind to assess the report based on the numbers. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor/Commissioner Hufford indicated that she did not state her vote to the <br />Orlando Sentinel. The Sentinel based their assumption on the public record, which stated <br />her opposition to moving forward with Phase II of the program. <br />
