<br />RESOLUTION 08-1853 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, ADOPTING A SOCIAL SECURITY COLLECTION <br />POLICY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, <br />AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, effective October 1, 2007, the Florida Legislature adopted new <br />requirements relating to the collection and dissemination of Social Security numbers by <br />all agencies in Florida, including cities, in Fla. Stat. 119.071 (5); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Fla. Stat. 119.071(5) requires that cities adopt a Social Security <br />number collection policy, and that a notice must be provided to individuals when an <br />agency collects that individual's Social Security number of the purpose for the collection <br />of the social security number. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby adopts a Social Security Collection <br />policy whereby any individual from whom a social security number is requested will be <br />provided notice of the purpose for the collection of the social security number, said <br />notice being attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any <br />of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. Severabilitv. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or <br />impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. Effective Date.
